Redhill Greenacres Project, Leicester
Groundworks Architects designed this community facility on a sloping site on the outskirts of Leicester. The original scheme included arts, crafts and IT workshops and a locally run restaurant, and was paid for by ERDF grant funding The client group are keen that the development is environmentally responsible, the project is heated by Biomass heating and it is hoped that a wind turbine can be included to generate power for the scheme.
Current Stage: Completed on site 2006 Construction cost: approx £1.5m
The facility has now been taken over by a local further education college and provides start up workshops for creative industries.
